Thanks for your interest in my freelance copywriting services ....

Now, maybe you're visiting this copywriting web site out of curiosity. Some folks do--especially those who never hired a freelance copywriter before.

But, more likely, you need a good direct response copywriter--someone who combines writing skill and sales ability with Internet marketing know-how and product knowledge.

Whatever your reason for coming to this page, you want to know more about a freelance copywriter before you hire him. If we were sitting face-to-face, chatting in your office, you'd ask me questions. Let me try to answer a few of those questions right here.

Q. "WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AS A FREELANCE COPYWRITER?"

A. In short, I...

  • Wrote the course on Best Copywriting Secrets

  • Conducted more than 8,000 split-tests to date, to have empirical PROOF of what elements really increase conversions
  • Wrote the guide on maximizing website conversions: Website Conversion Tests
  • Wrote the guide on how to persuasively sell anything to anyone: Persuasion in Business
  • Invested over $132,000 to learn from the best in copywriting business especially Gary Bencivenga, Gary Halbert, Jay Abraham, Dan Kennedy, Clayton Makepeace, and John Carlton among others
  • Have a B.A. from Yale University
  • Have written sales copy and landing pages for businesses across 40 different markets, and organized multiple 6-figure product launches (chances are I've already nailed your market)

Q. “How do you KNOW that your copy delivers results even when a client’s website does not have the analytics to measure conversion rates?”

A: There are 2 key reasons why I think the copy I write is better than most any other copy you can purchase today:

  • I learned from the very best in the field – and not just copywriting by writing in general. I agree with Clayton Makepeace and John Carlton that great copywriting requires a solid foundation of general writing, and there is no better place to acquire that skill than at Yale University.
  • I am a fanatical tester. As a small business owner, and I wrote and tested over 100 elements of copy with over 8,000 split-tests. I know some conversion secrets that can crash your bank account, yet defy all traditional "copywriting theory."  So the copy I write is proven to convert well. I even wrote a book on this topic!

Q: “Do You Specialize in Certain Kinds of Projects?”

A: While I work on all kinds of different copywriting projects, 90 percent of my work is writing sales copy for web businesses. That includes website sales letters, lead capture pages, email marketing, autoresponders, orders forms, etc.

Q: “How Fast Can I Get My Copy Written?”

A: It depends on the job specifics. In most cases, I like to have 2-3 weeks from start to finish of a job. That way I have time to do the research, write several drafts, and edit the final copy carefully; this gives you the best possible copy.

However I do understand the fast-paced nature of our internet business, and can (if you are genuinely pressed for time) produce high quality copy within 1 week. The prerequisite to this is that you provide solid research so I don’t spend as much time on researching your niche, product and competitors.

Note: Occasionally I’ll accept a 48-hour turnaround assignment. This is usually to save someone’s butt – meaning there is a product launch or an event in a few days and the copy is not ready, another copywriter did not deliver, or possibly the copywriter him or herself turn to me for help in the last minutes before deadline. There is a 100% surcharge for 48-hour turnaround jobs, I have to confirm in advance that I can clear ALL of my schedule to work exclusively on this copy, and you’ll need to provide me with all the research I could possibly need to write your copy (or get the info I need while I am writing). Rest assured, though, that once I accept the assignment you will get your copy on time, and you will be happy with it.

Q: “Are There Any Copywriting Jobs You Won’t Do?”

A: I’m afraid so. I don’t work with everyone who asks. It’s nothing personal – my time is very limited, and I’ve decided that some jobs and clients are just not meant for me.

For one thing I will not work on projects promoting pornography, alcohol, cigarettes, weapons, or hate and gossip products.
I also found that I work better with a specific type of clients. These clients usually:
- Happily pay my fee + 10% royalties on the increase in sales I generate (my fee is purposefully low to help the client get the best copy for the lowest out of pocket cost)
- Let me do my work and do not bug me daily with “project updates”
- Do not get a kick out of editing someone else's copy
- Do not think they know better (if so they should be writing their own copy, right?)
- Listen to my input about the graphics and the layout of the sales letter on the landing page. These elements can make or break the results of the landing page.

I look at every client as a partner, with a long future of fruitful business together. I help you generate higher profits, and get rewarded with additional work and referrals.

Q: “Why would a client pay you an up-front fee PLUS a 10% royalty or mailing fee?”

A: To give me a financial incentive to think about their product after the copy is written—and to look for ways to improve the copy and their marketing on an ongoing basis, so the copy I wrote continues to generate a profitable response. Someone who pays just the upfront fee gets just a great copy…but what will you do with it?

There is a large number of ways to screw up a great web copy by covering the landing page with wrong colors, buttons and formatting. There are many more marketing variables that can cause the campaign to flunk even when you have a great copy.

Consider that just by changing the order button for one of my clients I was able to increase conversions by 43%. Just the order button! Savvy businessmen know they make more money by paying royalties on the copy I write because in effect they get an experienced marketing consultant for free.

Q: “Is Your Copy Guaranteed?”

A: Absolutely. I guarantee that I’ll write excellent copy… that it will be delivered on time, and that I will revise or re-write it up to 3 times in the first 30 days after I initially deliver it.
My copy gets great results for lots of people, but your results may vary. Why? There are many reasons. Here are the main ones:

  • I don’t control all the variables that can influence your chances of success – like your layout, your web host, your payment processing service, your designer, the quality and value of your offer, price, the lists you are using, marketing strategies you choose to implement etc.
  • I don’t make your product – you do. If your product sucks, there’s no copy in the world that’s going to help you.
  • It’s up to you to determine whether there’s even a market for your product. You’re not paying me to know that. When you bring me a copywriting job, I assume you’ve already decided there is a market for what you’re selling.

Q: “What If I Don’t Like The Copy?”

A: Well, let’s be clear about one thing right up front: you have free rewrites available in the first 30 days. Just tell me what you feel isn’t right, and I’ll make your changes right away.
That being said, often the copy that you “don’t like” is the copy that will perform the best. And I will not be shy about telling you this, if I think it’s the case. My clients are delighted with their copy “as delivered” 99% of the time. But please know that if you are not satisfied with the copy I deliver, I will revise it for you. Fast. And free.

Q. “What happens if I hire you, but for some reason, we have to delay or cancel the project?”

A: My “kill fee” schedule is the same for all copywriting projects, and the fee I retain depends on at what stage of the project the client cancelled.

You’d receive 90% refund of paid fees if you’ve given a go-ahead and then cancel before I have started work. 75% refund if you cancel and I have done research but haven’t submitted copy.
50% refund if I have written an outline or copy platform but have not written a draft yet.
No refund if I have submitted first completed draft and all that remains is to polish it.

Q: “What is Your Experience in My Specific Market?”

A: I have written and studied winning controls for just about any industry you can think of. Even if you have a business that I have not had some experience with, my unique research and fact-finding methods will ensure that your copy will accomplish exactly what you want it to.

Q: “Why The Heck Do You Charge So Little?!”

A: I would like to say that the economy is tough and I want to give the little guy a leading chance of making money on line…but the truth is that am looking for 4-5 new clients with a particular mindset and business in place - whom I know it will be very profitable to work with on partnership basis in the future.

Therefore, to make the offer of working with a copywriter they’ve never worked with before (me) irresistible and virtually risk-free - I am keeping my copywriting fees at a bare minimum for a few short months.

Once I find the 4-5 business owners I am looking for, these prices will double instantly.

"HOW DO I ORDER FROM YOU?"

But don't worry about organizing anything--I'll do that. If I have any questions, I'll pick up the phone and ask.

When you give me the go-ahead, I'll write the assignment for you. You will receive your copy on or before the deadline date. And remember: it is guaranteed to please you.
